Living Libraries – Don’t Judge a Book By its Cover

As a special event for Mental Health Week (5 – 11 October) the State Library and public libraries are partnering with Department of Health, Mental Health Division to present Living Libraries.

The Living Library twists the concept of a traditional library, where you borrow a person, not a book. These books are not your usual library books; they are actually living people with experiences and stories to share. This also gives the borrowers a chance to ask questions.

Living Libraries will be at these libraries between 7-9 October.
Please book by emailing

  • Midland Library 7 October  10am – 2pm
  • Fremantle Library  7 October  3pm – 7pm
  • State Library of WA  8 October  11am – 2.30pm
  • Gosnells Knowledge Centre  9 October 3pm – 7.30pm

Check out the Living Library Catalogue to find out more about the Living Books and where you can chat with them.
