  1. I am in the UK now so obviously won’t be at Thursday’s meeting. I had to order the Poisonwood Bible from Amazon when I got back here and it only arrived last week. I thought “I’ll never manage to read that by next Thursday”. It looked as if it might be hard going but quite the contrary; if I was not so busy at the moment, I would have just sat down and read it all day long. I am finding it fascinating and I love the way that the story is told from 5 different view points (and how the different characters are developing), I find that makes for compulsive reading – a real page turner. So far i have only read as far as the end of “Revelations” but tomorrow I’m off to Jersey for 6 days and hope to get some reading done there. Look forward to hearing what others think of the book. Best wishes. Alison

    • Yes Alison, I like you read the book at every opportunity I got. I found the narrative extremely funny until near the end of the book when it almost overwhelmed me with sadness at the stupidity and ignorance of the father who put his family in such danger.
