Renowned historical researcher Kristy Bizzaca shows you how to research your house and its history. Kristy expalins how to use rate books to find out when your house was built and who lived and owned the property at any given date from 1880 to the present day. Come along and learn about this fascinating process and watch as your house slowly reveals its secrets.

Time Honoured Tales with Linda Thorne

Rediscover old favourites with the kids at a special Heritage Week Storytime for 2-5 year olds. Led by Linda Thorne, Librarian: Young People’s Services, the even includes classic stories, rhymes and songs, plus a simple craft activity.

Treasures from the Archives of the Fremantle Local History Collection

Staff at the Local History Collection invite you to view hidden treasures from the archives. Items on display include original rate books and council records and ephemera relating to the City of Fremantle, local businesses and organisations dating back to the 19th century. Several artefacts are also available for viewing. Take the opportunity to see materials not usually available to the public!

Literary Heritage Day with Fremantle City Library Staff

Arthur Grady Display

Don’t miss a display of memorabilia commemorating the feats of Fremantle motorcyclist Arthur Grady from his 1924 ride around Australia. The display includes a replica of the motorcycle used by Mr Grady as well as newspaper clippings and photographs from the time.
