The allure of writing music entices Australian women from all walks of life. Music journalist Rosalind Appleby will share stories and music from her book Women of Note: The Rise of Australian Women Composers with live music performances from composer Cathie Travers.
Rosalind Appleby graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Music Performance and has spent the past twelve years working as a music journalist. She has contributed to a variety of national and international publications including London’s Financial Times, and the Australian. She also is a music critic for the West Australian newspaper and is the Western Australian correspondent for the prestigious Opera magazine (London). For several years she produced and broadcast Difficult Listening for RTRFM.
