Neil Murray was a founding member of the Warumpi Band which blazed a trail for indigenous music into mainstream Australia.
Neil has become one of Australia’s most original and respected songwriters, enjoying a solo career since 1989. Winner of the 1995, APRA song of the year for My Island Home originally written for the Warumpi Band and re-recorded by Christine Anu. He has released eleven albums, the latest of which is “Bring Thunder and Rain”. Neil has also published stories, articles, poems, a play and the cult classic auto-biographical novel “Sing For Me Countryman”.
Neil will speak (and occasionally sing) on his three decade involvement in Indigenous culture and music.
