Vale Harper Lee and Umberto Eco

Harper Lee, author of To Kill a Mockingbird and the more recently published Go Set a Watchman, and Umberto Eco, most famous for In the Name of the Rose, both passed away on February 19, 2016.

An American classic novel, To Kill a Mockingbird details the ethics and injustice of a court case set in the 1930s southern America.

Go Set a Watchman, published in 2015, is considered an earlier draft of To Kill a Mockingbird.

As well as writing on semiotics, philosophy and anthropology, Umberto Eco combined his academic interests into his novels, including In the Name of the Rose, Misreadings and Numero Zero.
